My philosophy is to nurture students in a relaxed and fun environment. I meet students where they are at and help guide them to reach their greatest potential. Every stage of the journey is important!

I am a classically trained musician with a wide range of skills and experience. After receiving my bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of Toronto I took two years to study keyboard percussion privately with renowned soloist She-e Wu in New York. I participated in several international competitions in Germany, Austria and California where I advanced to the top 15 players from around the world. After this, I completed my master’s degree at McGill University and began my freelance career in the Toronto Area. During this time, I began intensive music theory, composition and orchestration lessons with U of T professor, Alexander Rapoport. I also studied film music and recording techniques at Sheridan College. I currently play percussion with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and teach from my own studio.
As a music teacher I offer a wide range of lessons. In addition to drum set and percussion I teach piano and keyboard skills, music theory and composition. My students have gone on to be percussion majors at all top Canadian Universities, won competitions and scholarships, aced their RCM theory exams and have become professional pop music producers.
My teaching philosophy is to nurture students in a relaxed and fun environment. I meet students where they are at and help guide them to reach their greatest potential. Every stage of the journey is important!
